More direct contacts every day

Hello, I'm getting more direct contacts with doctors and healthcare professionals every day. Blogs are great for "one to many" communication but the interaction takes place in medical communities. Nevertheless, I need to have a blog or home page to tell about what I'm doing on a daily basis.

According to international epidemiological studies, the incidence of carpal tunnel syndrome is 3%in men and 5% in women. We also know that up to 15% of the population suffer from CTS-like symptoms such as numbness, tingling, pain, weakness or clumsiness in the hand!

Over 80,000 people suffer from these symptoms in Helsinki region alone. Every year, 190 women and 90 men / 100,000 inhabitants are diagnosed with CTS which is which is 3 ‰ (per mille) of the population. The numbers for London are 10 to 15 times the Helsinki figure!

Greetings Mr. Helge,

I found your blog when searching for ways to solve my hand problem. I have a problem in my right hand. I will explain the full details in my blog, please read it in chronological order: fingermystery.blogspot.com
Please forgive my style and manner of blogging if it seems to desperate. I have been suffering the problem in my hand for months and I have difficulty expressing to the doctors what I really feel so they seem not to understand my hand problem clearly that's why I try to explain it by writing. My right middle finger tends to cross over my index finger. If I just let the index finger and middle finger side by side, the index finger is being forced to be abducted from its relaxed position by the middle finger. It keeps me weary especially if I need to constantly shift positions crossing the fingers over or not. X-rays has no evidence of fracture, nerves and muscles are OK, and joints are stable. But I knew that X-rays may miss rotational deformities. I suspect rotational deformity in my hand because there is overlapping, which also causes me discomfort.

Hope you have time for this.

Thanks and Good Luck to your Kind Efforts.
